  1. Don’t put files on the desktop
  2. Limit folder creation
  3. Get used to thinking in hierarchies
  4. /archive is your friend

I’ve been using a method similar to this for years and whole heartedly endorse it. Make sure you have great passwords on your devices and enable 2-factor-authentication on services where available.
